Staff Salaries
One of the challenges facing Christian camping organizations today is the ability to meet the financial needs of the ministry. With the economic difficulties our nation is being faced with, this challenge is greater than ever. The largest percentages of the overall financial needs of any camp are the operational expenses. To have camp you must have insurance, electricity, gas, water, heat, food, phones, and the list goes on. We also need to provide staff salaries. One way we can help offset this expense is to ask churches and individuals to contribute specifically to the staff on a monthly basis. Right now we have raised almost 40% of the funds needed for our current staff. As we gain enough support to cover the financial needs of the staff,
we are able to continue to make camp affordable and offer camper scholarships to those in need.
Just like many others, we realize that you may have been affected by the economic turndown. We would ask that you would consider giving whatever you are able to afford. For many to give a little, is just as helpful as one giving much. If this is something you would like to do on a one time or monthly basis please contact us.
Camper Scholarships We currently provide scholarships for both unsaved/unchurched young people as well as those who have financial need. Many of our campers are from Native American churches and are unable to attend camp apart from scholarships. We can only provide as many of these scholarships as there are donations to cover. Please contact us if you are interested in helping with this area.
Building Donations Our ministry can be greatly expanded as donors are burdened to help
with specific projects. Please contact us if you are interested in partnering with us
on a specific building or camper activity. Plans for future buildings and activities
include:
- Grand View Inn
- Preaching Center
- High Ropes Course
- Superslide
HOME Support Program (Helping Others Minister Effectively) Any individual, church, business, or organization can participate in the H.O.M.E. Support Program. A H.O.M.E. Supporter partners with the summer staff member by praying for him throughout the summer as well as helping provide some of the funds necessary for support. Grand View Camp has invited a number of college students from across the U.S. to give their summer to minister through a unique camp experience. H.O.M.E. Supporters have the privilege of partnering with these young people to further the cause of Christ in the Western U.S. and Western Canada.
Bridge to Campus Scholarships We have several students participating in the Bridge to Campus program (https://www.mbu.edu/online/bridge-to-campus/grand-view-camp/). These students make our off season retreats possible through their work at camp that covers their room and board. Many of them have significant needs for scholarships to help with academic tuition expenses. Giving towards this program is an opportunity to invest in these staff members as well as the camp ministry. Please let us know if you would like to sponsor a specific student or give towards general scholarships for the program.
